The Woman’s Club of Stuart is the oldest organization in Martin County, the largest
Woman’s Club in District 10 of the FFWC, and the eighth largest in the State of Florida.
The
Woman's Club of Stuart is currently registered with the State of Florida as a 501(c)3
not-for-profit organization.
We have been providing scholarships to young women for over 50 years. In 2011, we
provided four (4) scholarships to young woman in Martin County High Schools.
In addition
to scholarships, the Woman's Club of Stuart provides outreach in our community by
offering financial support to women suffering from breast cancer and heart disease.
Additionally, we support Helping People Succeed, Council on Aging, Veterans Hospital,
Hacienda Girls Ranch, Toys for Tots, and many other worthwhile charities. The Club
consists of over 100 regular members including members of the Woman's Club of Stuart
Girlfriends Committee, a group of professional, philanthropic women.
In 2010, the
Club began their most ambitious year to date. With the inception of the new Woman's
Club of Stuart Girlfriends Committee efforts, the Club raised over $20,000 to rejuvenate
the Clubhouse. The Phase One Clubhouse rejuvenation project was completed in late
June 2010. This rejuvenation resulted in the premiere of the "Banyan Room”, a facility
that will provide meeting space for thousands of Martin County residents well into
the future. Presently, the second phase of Clubhouse rejuvenation is being completed
with the installation of a new kitchen.
Establishing a new, younger group of women to organize and host events to raise funds for the Club. This group is called the Woman’s Club Girlfriends.
Through the Girlfriends fundraising efforts, the Clubhouse Banyan Room was completely refurbished with new windows, a new entrance door and French doors to the patio area, a new ceiling, chandeliers and drapes, a new electrical system, and a revamp of the air condition duct work. This refurbishing has enabled a huge increase in Clubhouse rentals.
This summer, the Girlfriends will continue the success of their fundraising efforts with refurbishment of the Clubhouse kitchen. This renovation will provide a modern, state of the art kitchen for our facility.
Establishing and receiving approval for a 501(c)3 nonprofit status enabling our Club to receive grants and larger donations with donors being able to claim a tax deductible exemption.
Increasing Scholarship awards by giving four $2,500 Scholarships to young women in Martin County High Schools.
Increasing our Scholarship Fund and other Charity Funds by hosting two major fundraisers and other fundraisers throughout the year.
Providing charitable support to other organizations including Helping People Succeed, Council on Aging, Veterans Hospital, White Doves, Toys for Tots, Mothers & Infants Striving for Success, Shoes for Hati, Alzheimer’s Association and Pink Tie Friends.
Increasing public relations and public awareness of our organization and adding more than 60 new members.
