GFWC Woman’s Club of Stuart is a group of dedicated women committed to our mission of providing scholarships to female student in Martin County and supporting the needs of local charities.
We are a part of the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs (GFWC) and the largest club in District 10 of the GFWC Florida.
On October 13, 2013, the GFWC Woman's Club of Stuart celebrated their 100th year of community service to the residents of the Treasure Coast. In May, 2013, we gave $16,000 in scholarship money to Martin County High School senior women. In addition to our scholarships, we provided support to many local charities.
Our members are hard-working and supportive women with a purpose. This year, as in the past, we will focus on how we can best serve the community through service. Our members offer their expertise, talents, and time to one or more of the Community Service Programs including the Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach and Public Issues.
To celebrate our 100th Birthday, we hosted a VIP Party on October 11th for members and dignitaries to share our accomplishments and the contributions we have made to our Community. It was filled with history, vignettes, and memorabilia from the past 100 years and offered the opportunity to local notables to be a part of our proud heritage.
On October 12th, we hosted a Community Open House to the residents of Martin County to celebrate our 100 Years Anniversary. This event included a fun filled afternoon of live music, food & drinks, pioneer families, historic vignettes and memorabilia as we presented the history of our Club for the past 100 years. The event showcased our Club's past and present. It was a complimentary event for our community to share in our 100 Years Celebration!
(Please visit our 100th Anniversary link
for more information and photos.)
We will also provide a beautiful float in the Stuart Christmas Parade to celebrate and honor our 100 years of community service.
Our major fundraising events for this year include a A Day of Beauty, our 5th Annual Holiday Home Tour, an Ornament Workshop, a Wine & Design Event, and our 4th Annual "Sip n Shop". In addition to our charitable contributions, our Club provides an opportunity to meet new acquaintances and establish new friendships. We work hard but also have fun and we all share a camaraderie of helping those in need.
